Squid Game, the Netflix television show that took the world by storm is officially getting a second season. With over 111 million global fans it’s not a big surprise, especially with how the show ended, but there was some doubt when creator Hwang Dong-hyuk originally seemed averse to a second season.
In an interview with Times, Dong-hyuk revealed he would like to explore “The problem with police officers”. From the way Dong-hyuk explained it, further exploration of the Frontman–the main villain throughout most of the season–would be what makes up part of season 2.
THR has reported Netflix is in discussions, but nothing is confirmed yet.
Given the success of the first season one can imagine Netflix is dying to get the second season underway as soon as possible. That said, Hwang Dong-hyuk told also told THR “I do have a basic storyline…it’s all in my head — and I am currently in the brainstorming stage.”
