The latest installment of our Channel Surfing TV picks includes a pair of comic shows and a new dramedy created by Mindy Kaling. An all-new season of Riverdale begins this week. Become familiar with Marvel’s unlikeliest assassin in Hit-Monkey. Then, follow the escapades of four freshmen in The Secret Lives of College Girls.

Archie Gets Chilling

The gang on Riverdale have been through so much drama over the seasons. When we last left the show, their hometown was changing and there was an explosive finale. As the series returns, it marks the beginning of a five-episode event.

We’ll find out whether two of the main cast survive from the previous events. Also, Cheryl has been embracing her family’s history and getting in tune with witchcraft. With all the supernatural activity, it would be a good time for a cross-over and bring an expert in Sabrina Spellman. She will appear later in episode four.

Season six of Riverdale begins Tuesday, November 16, on The CW.

A Killer of Killers

You don’t have to wait until Thanksgiving when Hawkeye is released to watch a new Marvel series. Though it doesn’t have any connection to the MCU, Hit-Monkey is coming our way about an unassuming macaque turned vigilante.

Enter the Japanese underworld where Hit-Monkey, joined by his ghost companion, Bryce, work their way up the ladder to get revenge on the person responsible for his personal tragedies. It’s a hell of a thrill ride and catch our early review here.

Stream Hit-Monkey beginning Wednesday, November 17, on Hulu.

Back to School

Mindy Kaling has proven she can do coming-of-age comedies with her Netflix show, Never Have I Ever. With her latest, she’s graduating from high school and heading to the university in The Sex Lives of College Girls.

The story is centered around four female college freshmen who attend the prestigious New England university, Essex College. They come from different walks of life and come into each other’s lives when they become roommates. As they pursue higher learning, they encounter a whole new set of struggles and hardships not to mention as the title implies, a sexually active lifestyle.

The Sex Lives of College Girls premieres Thursday, November 18, on HBO Max.
