Last week, Marvel Comics teased a new supervillain that’ll be fighting Spider-Man in 2022 and she goes by the name Queen Goblin. Little is known about her beyond the design and awesome art by Arthur Adams, although it appears her identity leaked today.
The Marvel Comics solicitations for February 2022 are out and they include a design variant cover by Patrick Gleason. That cover features notes by Gleason, including the real name of the character.
Spoilers ahead, you’ve been warned!
Check out the cover below.
As you can see, it’s none other than Ashley Kafka. Originally created by J.M. DeMatteis and Sal Buscema, the character has a tumultuous past–read all about that here–including being murdered, cloned, the clone dying, and then being brought back again recently in Ravencroft #5. This may not be confirmation–it’s possible Gleason is having a bit of fun–but it’s about as close as you can get to information like this leaking.
Kafka most recently popped up in Amazing Spider-Man #75 in a backup by Zeb Wells and Ivan Fiorelli. In that backup story, we learn the Beyond Corporation hired her and she agreed on the spot due to her interest in Ben Reilly.
Stay tuned to AIPT as we’ll likely learn more about Queen Goblin in the coming weeks.
