The biggest new video games coming out the week of 11/29/21

Check out what’s new in the world of video games this week.

I hope there’s still room on your hard drives — and cash in your wallet! — after all the Black Friday gaming sales as we got a few stylish games hitting consoles this week in addition to Marvel’s Avengers getting a new character.

Let’s check out what video games are hitting stores this week.

Spider-Man comes to Marvel’s Avengers (11/30)

Marvel’s Avengers has earned its fair share of criticism, some of which dates back to before the game even released when it was announced Spider-Man would be coming to the game as a PlayStation exclusive character. He arrives this week and looks to be…underwhelming, to say the least. The character looks stiff and slow during gameplay, and swinging as the webhead seems to be a poor fit for the game. But most unfortunately Spidey won’t come with any story missions unlike the two Hawkeyes and Black Panther. At least we have two dope Spider-Man games from Insomniac to play instead.

Solar Ash (12/2)

Hyper Life Drifter developer Heart Machine’s second game drops this week. Solar Ash is a fast-paced 3D platformer with a gorgeous art style. There’s combat in the game, but it’s mostly a title about stylish and fluid traversal of the environment. “It’s more about the feeling and the spectacle and less about the challenge this time around,” Alx Preston, Solar Ash’s creative director, told Kotaku earlier this year. Solar Ash definitely checks the spectacle box as its environments are set inside a giant black hole. The protagonist, Rey, ventures inside this black hole to find a way to save her home world.

Chorus (12/3)

Developer Fishlabs looks to revitalize the space-shooter genre with Chorus. In it you’ll take control of Nara as she pilots her sentient space ship, Forsaken. Together they’ll traverse outer space and explore mysterious temples on their way to stopping the Circle, a Cult led by the Great Prophet who looks to take control of the galaxy. The controls look tight and a thrill to play. For only $39.99, Chorus may end up being the steal of the season.
