Thor learns an incredible truth about The God of Hammers in ‘Thor’ #20

What does Thor, The God of Hammers, and Mjolnir have in common?

Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned.

Mjolinr is on a rampage across the universe and in part 2 of “The God of Hammers” story arc revelations are made. It’s a story that features Thor as the new All-Father of Asgard who has lost his beloved hammer. So far, The God of Hammers has been a myth, but in Thor #20 we learn there may be more truth to it than we could ever believe.

To start, definitely check out Thor #20 and Thor #19 as Donny Cates and Nic Klein have been unveiling an epic Thor story for the ages.

This issue has quite a reveal by its end, but before we get there Thor and his father listen to a story by Loki. Sure, they probably shouldn’t believe Loki 100%, but then again he’s a bit nicer and friendlier these days. As they listen, Loki tells a doomsday tale with the God of Hammers at the culprit.

It turns out the God of Hammers will take the last king of Asgard, which may mean Thor since he’s the current king. Funny thing about king’s though, especially in Asgard, is that the king can change quite a bit.

After the tale, Thor heas to Earth to find it in rubble. Soon after, Mjolinr is thrown at him and it’s used to beat him down. Or is it?

In a ball of blue energy we learn who the God of Hammers is…

…and it’s none other than:

…Mjolnir itself! That’s right, the God of Hammers and Mjolnir are one and the same. Donny Cates, the best comics writer at shocking readers has revealed Mjolnir isn’t just a hammer filled with energy, but an entity. The very entity that has been foretold to destroy the king of Asgard and everything else in the ten realms.

Given Mjolnir is a hammer it’s not that crazy to see how it could also be the God of Hammers. It’s quite the reveal, one that adds a different context to Thor: Ragnarok.
