Jeff Lemire inks exclusive deal with Image Comics

Expect series like ‘The Bone Orchard Mythos’ and unannounced titles all coming in 2022 at Image Comics.

Press Release

Image Comics has announced Jeff Lemire isn’t going anywhere as he’s signed an exclusive deal with the publisher. The deal will make Image Comics the home of all of his projects launching in 2022, “and beyond.” Lemire has had many of his titles published at Image Comics over the years like Gideon Falls and Primordial. In fact, his hotly anticipated horror universe series The Bone Orchard Mythos with Andrea Sorrentino was already planned to be published under Image Comics.

“Having worked with Image on so many projects over the last decade, I’ve come to appreciate the complete creative freedom and support that they’ve provided me,” said Lemire. “I’m excited to make Image the exclusive home for all my projects in the years to come, both solo projects that I will draw myself, and my various collaborations. Bone Orchard and Little Monsters are just the start of what I have planned this year and beyond.”

Image Comics promises there are a number of soon-to-be-announced projects lined up in the coming year, some solo projects written and drawn by him and some that will feature his work in collaboration with artists new-to-Image.

Lemire is an incredibly busy creator, publishing Black Hammer titles at Dark Horse and the recent Robin & Batman miniseries at DC Comics. Back in September, Lemire revealed his new series Fishflies was set to be released via his Substack exclusively.

Lemire took to his Substack to make clear he has an exemption in his exclusive deal to finishing the last few Black Hammer series that are planned. These include Black Hammer Reborn, Madame Dragonfly, and Black Hammer: The End. Planned for release at Dark Horse Comics between 2022 and 2023 these will be Lemire’s last work-for-hire comics outside of Image and his Substack.
