Dark Horse signals ‘The Last Days of Black Hammer’ coming to print

Acting as a prequel to the events of the Black Hammer Universe, ‘The Last Days of Black Hammer’ details the heroics of Joe Weber.

Jeff Lemire announced The Last Days of Black Hammer earlier today on his Substack which will feature art by Stefano Simeone and letters by Nate Piekos. Released weekly, the comic will then be collected in a physical format by Dark Horse Comics.

“The Last Days of Black Hammer tells the story of the last days of the original Black Hammer, Jospeh Weber, and is a graphic novel I have wanted to do for a while,” says Jeff Lemire. “I’m so excited to be working with Stefano Simeone to bring this to life and to release it in such a unique way.”

So what’s The Last Days of Black Hammer about?

Acting as a prequel to the events of the Black Hammer Universe, The Last Days of Black Hammer details the heroics of Joe Weber—the original hero known as Black Hammer—at the height of his power, along with the rest of the main Black Hammer heroes like Golden Gail, Abraham Slam, and Barbalien in the final days leading up the their cataclysmic battle with the cosmic villain Anti-God!

Dark Horse signals 'The Last Days of Black Hammer' coming to print

Today has been a wild one for Substack creators with many new channels, free comics announcements, and more announced this morning. It’s nice to already know Dark Horse Comics will be publishing The Last Days of Black Hammer sometime probably later this year, especially for those who aren’t interested in digital comics.
