Super Bowl XLVI is well under way, but it didn’t start until the Great One said it could. Before the opening kick off, WWE Legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson cut a promo hyping up the biggest sporting event in the United States, starting with one word very familiar to wrestling fans: “FINALLY….”

Interestingly, The Rock is actually somewhat of a competitor to the NFL, as he purchased the assets for Vince McMahon’s XFL after the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the failure of the league’s second attempt at prominence.
Rumors continue to swirl that The Rock will be competing in a WWE ring some time in the relatively near future — most likely at next year’s WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles — but for now, this promo will have to tide us over.
