On Monday, Hasbro unveiled some new toy offerings based on characters from both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. There was only one figure for the 6″ scale Black Series, but it’s a character we’ve all wanted to see in plastic form.
Unfortunately, Hasbro whiffed pretty hard this time around. We’ll start things off with a look at that one before moving onto the Vintage Collection offerings, which were much better.
Black Krrsantan

As you can see, this figure is based on the comic version of the character. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it’s a weird choice considering that his appearance in The Book of Boba Fett is what most folks will know him from.
The scarring and facial portrait look pretty good, but it’s all downhill after that. Hasbro decided to simply reuse their Chewbacca body mold despite the fact that Krrsantan is supposed to be noticeably larger/bulkier. This extremely poor/lazy design choice along with a fancy box is suppose to somehow justify the figure’s retail price of $27.99–not quite “deluxe” level, but still a ripoff.
If you still want one, however, then Krrsantan will go up for preorder on Tuesday at 1:00 PM from your preferred online retailers. He’s expected to hit toy shelves in Spring of 2023.
Now let’s take a look at the Vintage Collection offerings.
The good news is that all of these are great. The bad news is that they’re all Target exclusives, which means when they go up for preorder on Tuesday at 1:00 PM, you’ll have until approximately 1:01 to get your order in before the scalper bots clean out the inventory.
The figures will all cost $14.99, but that feels downright charitable compared to how Hasbro has been pricing their other Star Wars offerings lately. They’ll also be here by Fall of 2022, which is a much more order-to-delivery window than the 14-15 month wait for Krrsantan.
Anyway, let’s take a look at the figures we’ll all be frantically clicking refresh today to try and buy.
Koska Reeves

This one’s a no-brainer. If you also happen to be a big fan of Sasha Banks (like our EIC Patrick Ross), then there’s no way you’re passing this figure up.
I wish the facial expression was better, but the portrait and sculpt are still fantastic.
Migs Mayfeld (Morak)

Something about the mouth on the facial portrait bothers me. That said, it’s still a pretty decent likeness of Bill Burr. The weathering on the uniform looks great, as well.
Axe Woves

Can’t say I ever expected to see this guy in plastic form. Unlike the last two figures, this one looks much closer to the actor portraying him (Simon Mario Kassianides). It’s already a very cool toy, but Axe pretty much becomes a must buy by default so that you can have him, Koska Reeves, and Bo Katan together in this scale.
Good luck to everyone attempting to buy these from Target tomorrow.
