On Friday, Sony announced that their oft-delayed Morbius film has been given a new release date of April 1, 2022. The film was originally scheduled to be released on January 28 of this year but was delayed due to concerns over the current surge in COVID-19 cases caused by the Omicron variant.
In their announcement, Sony included that yet another new trailer for Morbius would debut on Monday, February 28. They also included a video of Jared Leto discussing the character’s comic history (which most of you likely know) along with the initial reticence to have the character on screen, which you can watch below.

One has to wonder if the new Morbius trailer will actually show anything new. The last trailer gave us tons of new footage along with a bevy of easter eggs tying Morbius more directly to both the MCU and Sony’s live-action Spider-Man films.
Considering all the recent reshoots Sony did to include Michael Keaton’s portrayal of Adriam Toomes/Vulture, there’s a decent chance we’ll get to see something we haven’t before–especially if it helps recreate the buzz Morbius has lost in the months since its latest delay.
