Out this week in comic shops is Horizon Zero Dawn Vol. 2: Liberation, the second volume of the ongoing Horizon Zero Dawn comic series. Based on the hit video game by Guerrilla Games, the series is drawn by Elmer Damaso. Collected in this trade paperback are issues #5-8 with a story by Horizon Zero Dawn narrative director Ben McCaw and writer Anne Toole.
Set in a far-future Earth, the series is full of epic natural beauty and forgotten ruins where animal-like machines are the dominant species and humans struggle to survive in pre-industrial tribes. The story follows Aloy and Erend who hunt for a fellow tribesman killer.
Courtesy of Titan, we have an exclusive look at Damaso’s process with pencils and colors by Bryan Valenza and Stelladia. It’s impressive to see how color adds light, shadow, and even details like clouds.

You can purchase Horizon Zero Dawn Vol. 2: Liberation wherever books are sold.
