Watch: Trailer for Alex Garland’s ‘Men’

Check out the frightening trailer below!

Men is the latest picture to come from the mind of Alex Garland. In the aftermath of a personal tragedy, Harper (Jessie Buckley) retreats alone to the beautiful English countryside, hoping to have found a place to heal. But someone or something from the surrounding woods appears to be stalking her. What begins as simmering dread becomes a fully-formed nightmare, inhabited by her darkest memories and fears.

Garland’s first two movies have been critical successes. Ex Machina was instrumental in launching the career of Alicia VikanderAnnihilation did not fare well at the box office, but received high praise for its handling of sci-fi tropes and emotional depth.

Based on the trailer, Men seems to have much more of a horror slant than his previous two films. There is a sense of unease throughout the entire thing. It also looks like the film will be dealing with some serious themes. Plus, everyone looks a little too familiar.

Men comes to theaters May 20
