This week on Top Chef, the competition once again jumped straight into the elimination challenge. It was only a matter of time before we received a barbecue challenge. This is Texas after all. The contestants had to create a unique dish that highlighted the flavors of Texas style brisket. Luckily, they had the help of a professional pitmaster so they could concentrate on the rub, trimming, and other components of the dish.
After they finished their grocery shopping, they were thrown a curveball with a quickfire: make their own version of Texas toast. The winning chef received immunity and $10,000 so it compensated for the mixed order of events. Plus, the smoking process is long so there was still plenty of time for preparation afterwards.
The top two remained the same but there were shake-ups mostly everywhere else in the Power Rankings.

New episodes of Top Chef season 19 air Thursday nights on Bravo.
