WonderCon ’22: ‘The Quest’ trailer and release date

The Quest asks “Do you have what it takes to save the Kingdom?”

The Quest was a fantasy-based competition series that originally aired in 2014 on ABC. The show is receiving a second life with a reboot arriving to Disney+. At this year’s WonderCon, a panel was held to reveal more about this particular version.

This time around, the contestants will all be teenagers who assume the role of paladins. The Quest combines contains both scripted and unscripted components to produce an immersive competition series where fantasy and reality collide. The participants compete in challenges in a fully-realized world of adventure. An entirely new mythology and world was developed. Get a taste of it from the description below.

For thousands of years, Everealm has been a land of unrivaled beauty and powerful magic. Now, the realm is threatened by a powerful evil Sorceress. As a last hope, the noble Fates summon eight strangers known as Paladins from a world beyond to work together to fulfill an ancient prophecy and vanquish the Sorceress. The Paladins must unlock the hero within through a series of challenges that push their limits to restore balance to Everealm. If they fail, all will be lost. Heroes will rise. Kingdoms will fall.

The Quest comes from a creative team that includes the minds behind the The Lord of the Rings, The Amazing Race and Queer Eye. The first season will consist of eight episodes and the series will premiere May 11 on Disney+. Also at the panel, the audience were treated with the official trailer.
