Top Chef began this week with a fun quickfire challenge: use the supplied produce of one color to create a monochromatic vegetarian dish. Also, since we are deep into the competition, it was announced that this would be the final immunity up for grabs for the rest of the season.
The elimination challenge was very personal for the chefs. After learning the history of Juneteenth and visiting the historic Freedman’s Town, they were tasked with catering a fundraiser for 100 people with a dish that spoke to their soul. It involved things that were passed down from generation to generation in their families. Once again, everyone brought their “A” game forcing the judges into a tough decision. However, in the end, there could only be one winner and one contestant would be sent home.
