Marvel Comics has released the variant cover for Amazing Fantasy #1000 by J. Scott Campbell. The giant-sized special is star-studded with creators like Neil Gaiman, Jim Cheung, Michael Cho, Dan Slott, Terry Dodson, Rainbow Rowell, Anthony Falcone, Kurt Busiek, Ho Che Anderson, and Jonathan Hickman all contributing. Campbell joins other beloved variant artists like Steve McNiven who AIPT exclusively revealed last week.
“It’s a thrill and an honor to create cover art celebrating the 60th anniversary of characters that have become so iconic and ingrained in our culture,” Campbell said. “I really wanted to make images that would have a visual bridge from the pulpy 4 color origins of these monumental heroes to the modern-day slick coloring and production we are now all familiar with.”
Campbell is also supplying anniversary covers this month for both THOR and HULK, with many more to come! And all these stunning pieces will also be available as Virgin Variant Covers.
