This year’s virtual Chattanooga Film Festival keeps getting better. The second wave of films include three world premieres, a thriller from South Korea, and a secret screening that will allow VIP badge holders to be some of the first people to watch one of this year’s sure-fire home runs for genre film fans. As usual, there will also be a number of shorts blocks and live events to attend.
Highlighting the second half of CFF’s feature film lineup is a trio of world premieres. Leading the pack is CFF 2022’s Opening Night Film The Leech, from filmmaker Eric Pennycoff. Pennycoff follows up his debut feature Sadistic Intentions with a movie about a priest who invites a couple into his home during Christmas. This simple act of kindness takes a dark turn. Stars genre favorites Jeremy Gardner and Graham Skipper.
Also making its world premiere debut is filmmaker Alana Purcell’s charming comedy/drama True Believer. In the film, siblings discover family secrets at a quirky cabin in the desert. In the festival’s Closing Night slot is the world premiere of Greg Swinson and Ryan Thiessen’s lean and mean thriller Night Shift, a story about a janitor who must fight off three masked intruders on her first night at the job.
