The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs ends another successful season on July 1. The fourth season has seen some great guests, horror classics, giallo, and pure schlock. It also included Joe Bob’s 100th movie on Shudder. Unfortunately, nothing from our wishlist was shown, but what did air were some incredibly fun genre films.
Plus, there is always hope for next season.
Shudder announced that it has renewed The Last Drive-In for a fifth season to air in 2023 with additional specials that will premiere later this year to be announced. Even the most popular shows are not always brought back, but this seemed like a easy decision. Each new episode this season through June 24 trended in the Top Five nationally on Twitter every Friday night.
“Thanks to the Shudder team for giving us the chance to hang out another year with the greatest fans in media. I’m constantly amazed by their affection and I’m constantly learning from them,” said Joe Bob Briggs.
“We’re delighted to bring Joe Bob, Darcy and the rest of The Last Drive-In Team back for another season of crazy movies, live tweeting, and the most entertaining commentary on TV,” said Shudder General Manager Craig Engler. “We’ll also have more special guests and themed holiday episodes, because as Joe Bob says, the drive-in never dies.”
The season four finale of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs airs on Shudder July 1
