Courtesy of Valiant Comics, AIPT has your first look at character designs for the upcoming Bloodshot Unleashed series. Written by Deniz Camp with art by Jon Davis-Hunt, the new series launches on September 21st. The story is a cross-country road-tripping-style story with Bloodshot hunting down bloodthirsty living weapons. Sounds rad.
But who are the key players, and what went into their design? Davis-Hunt breaks it down:
Bloodshot – “Bloodshot already has a really strong, iconic design, so I didn’t want to mess around with it too much, just bring it slightly up to date and double down on the ‘military-superhero’ theme of the book. We did try a few other variations with a greater level of body armour and a combination of different camo patterns, but ultimately, this just felt like the right design.” – Jon Davis-Hunt

Chambers – “In Deniz’s description of the character, the many pouches and equipment bags were a priority. They’re somewhat of a 90’s trope, but cleverly justified. I wanted him to look like a special forces operator, so I tried to take that aesthetic, combine it with our ‘military-superhero’ theme and then just layer on as many pouches as I could. In one variation, I actually managed to double the pouch count, but ultimately, we decided to go with a design that stayed just on the right side of ridiculous.” – Jon Davis-Hunt

So what’s Bloodshot Unleashed #1 about?
