If you wanted to see the newest film from Pixar but didn’t get a chance to catch it in the theater, you’re in luck! Disney Pixar’s Lightyear starring Chris Evans and Keke Palmer will be arriving on Disney+ on August 3rd.
The new Buzz Lightyear film was theatrically released on the 17th of last month.
Even though the films reviews from critics and audiences were generally pretty positive, the film’s box office results were underwhelming and not what the studio was expecting.
Lightyear has grossed a little over $116 million domestically and almost $98 million internationally, putting the worldwide total at around 213 million.

Normally this level of money made at the box office wouldn’t sound bad at all, but the film’s budget was a whopping 200 million. Even though the worldwide gross has exceeded the budget, it’s still a disappointment for Disney and Pixar.
Even though the performance of the animated feature was not the blowout some expected, the film could turn out to be quite the hit on streaming.
Only time will tell whether or not this Chris Evans space adventure will be a success on Disney+ where families can enjoy it from the comfort of their living rooms.
