On Thursday, James Hibberd of the Hollywood Reporter revealed that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be joining the fourth season of Amazon’s The Boys.
Although most folks reading this will be well acquainted with his portrayal of Negan in The Walking Dead, Morgan has some experience in the Superhero Deconstruction genre. Back in 2009, he portrayed Edward Blake/The Comedian in Zach Snyder’s film adaption of Watchmen. Whatever your opinion of the movie, I think we can all agree that he was perfect for the role.

It’s also worth noting that a character like Edward Blake/The Comedian would fit extremely well in The Boys‘ mythos. That said, Morgan could just as easily play someone on the corporate or government side of things (like this character in 2018’s Rampage).
Or maybe the series will completely throw us for a loop and cast him as a non-superpowered hero.
Whatever the case, details about Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s role in The Boys‘ fourth season are being kept under wraps. With filming already underway, however, it shouldn’t be long before we learn more about who the actor is playing.
