Matthew Rosenberg is no noob regarding Substack, posting regularly free newsletters for some time, but today he’s launched a new Substack in collaboration with other creators. Titled Ashcan Press Comics Corporation, the Substack will offer multiple tiers with extra goodies if you’re willing to pay, along with a free option that continues his newsletter and a movie club. Joining Rosenberg are artists Tyler Boss, Jordie Bellaire, Juan Ferreyra, Josh Hixson, Stefano Landini, Andy Macdonald, Javier Rodríguez, Rachel Pinnelas, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.
As Rosenberg puts it, “It’s my chance to work with creators I admire so much, artists that truly inspire me, and make things together that remind us why we had never had a choice but to make comics. We are going to tell stories that we love and find out if anyone out there wants to listen. Which brings me to you.” He made it clear this isn’t a publisher but a group of people making things together and giving fans a chance to see their process.
The larger goal, as Rosenberg puts it, is to create six brand new comic projects, among other fun things. Further details will be coming soon.

Along with the Substack tiers, a new podcast is in the works that’ll dive into comics craft, secret origins, and other fun stuff.
