Watch: Teaser trailer ‘V/H/S/99’

The end of an era.

Press Release

V/H/S/99 is set to make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival followed by its U.S. premiere at this year’s Fantastic Fest before heading to Shudder in October. The latest installment of the found footage anthology franchise harkens back to the final punk rock analog days of VHS, while taking one giant leap forward into the hellish new millennium. In V/H/S/99, a thirsty teenager’s home video leads to a series of horrifying revelations.

The new teaser trailer gives audiences an idea of what to expect. Filled with terrifying imagery and what are certain to be frightening jump scares, the new movie looks like a fun follow-up to last year’s V/H/S/94It looks to have the chaotic feel that have made the previous films so entertaining. The changing of the decade adds an unexpected nostalgic feel.

V/H/S/99 has strong names attached to it. Directors Maggie Levin (My Valentine), Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down), Flying Lotus, Tyler MacIntyre (Tragedy Girls), and Vanessa and Joseph Winter (Deadstream) will all have contributions. It is always risky when it comes to horror franchises, but it looks like the next part of the V/H/S series is in good hands.

V/H/S/99 premieres at TIFF September 15, Fantastic Fest September 25, and will be released exclusively on Shudder October 20
