Harrison Ford to step in for the late William Hurt as General Thunderbolt Ross

Will Harrison Ford hulk out at the Thunderbolts or too many questions about the multiverse first?

On Friday, Jeremy Mathai of /Film confirmed reports that Disney and Marvel Studios have recast General Thunderbolt Ross with Harrison Ford. Ford will be taking the role over from William Hurt, who passed away earlier this year of prostate cancer at the age of 71.

The news was initially reported by John Rocha and Jeff Schneider of the Hot Mic, who also revealed that Ford’s first appearance as General Ross would take place in Captain America: New World Order, which debuts May 3, 2024. From there, it’s expected that the character will play a major role in the upcoming Thunderbolts film.

The first question on most folks’ minds is likely how angry/annoyed Harrison Ford will get during press tours after a few hundred questions about the multiverse. The second is if Thunderbolt Ross will turn into the Red Hulk and whether or not Ford will have to do the motion capture work for it.

My guess is that Red Hulk will end up being the main antagonist of The Thunderbolts. Once he transforms, that will be the last time we see Harrison Ford onscreen before Red Hulk is taken out by the team.
