On Wednesday, Nellie Andreeva of Deadline.com revealed that Aubrey Plaza has been cast in the upcoming Disney+ series, Agatha: Coven of Chaos. We’ve known about the show for a while, but this along with Tuesday’s announcement about Joe Locke joining the series are the first major casting announcements we’ve had (Kathryn Hahn and Emma Caufield’s presence were already known/assumed).
According to Andreeva’s report, Plaza will portray the main antagonist in Agatha: Coven of Chaos opposite Locke and Hahn. Disney has declined all attempts to verify, but I think we can assume this is true for a couple of reasons:
- It’s being reported everywhere by reputable entertainment news outlets.
- Aubrey Plaza is perfect for the role.

Yes, we don’t know what the role is, but can you imagine how incredible it will be to see her and Kathryn Hahn go toe-to-toe on screen? Also, if Elizabeth Olsen returns for a cameo as the Scarlet Witch, we have a chance to see this historic moment be recreated.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos is scheduled to debut exclusively on Disney+ in Winter 2023.
