Marvel goes goblin mode with five villain reveals

It’s a great week for Marvel Comics fans who love goblin characters.

Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned.

If there’s one thing Marvel Comics has an edge on with other publishers, it’s goblin-themed villains. Spider-Man has the brunt of them, but then there’s also Madelyne Pryor, aka the Goblin Queen. It was never more apparent than in two comics out this week from Marvel, Venom #13 and Amazing Spider-Man #13.

That’s because we got to feast our eyes on not two, three, or even four goblins but five goblins!

The most expected goblins included two Hobgoblin characters who Spider-Man must fight in Amazing Spider-Man #13. We already saw both revealed in the last issue, and these Hobgoblins nearly killed Peter Parker.

Thankfully for Spider-Man, he has a new best friend who is none other than Norman Osborn. He no longer dresses as Green Goblin, but he does show up as…the Gold Goblin!

Again, this isn’t too big of a surprise since we’ve known a Gold Goblin comic was on the way since SDCC. What is a surprise is the reveal of another goblin in Amazing Spider-Man #13, the newest goblin to be introduced in Marvel Comics.

They go by the name…Queen Goblin.

It turns out she’s been pulling the strings and manipulating the Hobgoblin characters!

Not to be outdone, Venom is also playing the goblin game, only this is a different kind of goblin. On the final page of Venom #13, we get to see the Queen Goblin herself as the issue is set in Limbo.

Once again, not a huge surprise since we know she is a main villain in the Dark Web crossover event. That said, if we counted the goblins all around the Goblin Queen, we’d be well past five appearances!

These are all the appearances, but I highly recommend you read Venom #13 and Amazing Spider-Man #13. Both are highly entertaining while offering up some excellent goblin action. Find both in comic shops today or wherever digital comics are sold.
