Comics writer Chip Zdarsky has released his final CHIPCLASS course via YouTube, which breaks down how to be a good comics writer. So far, we’ve been given courses on development and ideas.
Free to watch on YouTube, the latest chapter focuses on scripting. More specifically, the two ideas in storytelling and how to work with an artist.
Watch the latest course below.
Once again, Zdarsky hilariously spoofs the industry be it how little artists are paid, or how they are treated. Possibly the funniest bit in the video involves how fast an artist is and how many horses they can draw per issue. It even came with a fancy chart.

As you can see, faster artists require more horses.
It’s worth noting Zdarsky didn’t make this alone. The series was directed by Sean McLeod, animated by Ben Shannon, and features Dave Murray as the artist in the video, and Allison O’Toole who has appeared in all episodes.
It’s sad to see this is the conclusion to Zdarsky’s ridiculous spoof on the MASTERCLASS model, but clearly, he’s taught us everything he knows about making comics.
