Star Wars Vintage Collection: New playset and vehicle revealed

The main reveal is predictably overpriced, but still a much better value than we’ve seen from Hasbro lately.

This week’s Bring Home the Galaxy reveals from StarWars.com were surprising for a couple of reasons:

  • They included two Vintage Collection items.
  • One of them looks really cool and is only moderately overpriced.

Let’s kick things off with the latter.

Endor Bunker

It’s not worth the $59.99 retail price tag, but that’s also shockingly low compared to what most of us would’ve guessed if we had seen the item beforehand. That’s not exactly a ringing endorsement of Hasbro’s current pricing strategy, but whatever.

Regarding the bunker itself, it’s a great-looking diorama piece that would be a welcome addition to any Endor shelf/display. As for the figure that’s included, Hasbro wisely went with a rebel-commando-in-disguise instead of giving us yet another biker scout (which you can still use as one if you really want). He’s also individually (and beautifully) packaged for you carded collector types.

The Endor Bunker set will go up for preorder on Wednesday at 1:00 PM EST at most major retailers. It’s expected to arrive in Spring 2023.

AT-ST & Chewbacca

Even if I wanted another AT-ST (which I don’t), there’s no way I’d shell out $89.99 retail for one until it’s confirmed that Hasbro finally fixed the wobbly leg issue. The Chewbacca isn’t enough of a selling point to take the risk, either.

If you’d like to take a chance on this set, however, the set will be available for preorder on Wednesday at 1:00 PM EST as a fan channel (i.e. toy-specific retailer) exclusive. It is expected to arrive in Spring 2023.
