NXT Deadline debuts Saturday, December 10th, and will feature the first two Iron Survivor Challenge Matches in history to decide the number one contenders to the NXT Championship and NXT Women’s Championship. We’ll also see some big main roster names make the trek down to the Performance Center, as the New Day attempt to capture the one active WWE tag team championship they’ve never won.
Here are the rules for the Iron Survivor Challenge Matches:
- Five Superstars will compete in this unique 25-minute match as they battle each other and the clock.
- Two Superstars will start the match, and every five minutes a new Superstar will enter the match until all five are in the ring.
- The goal is to have the most falls when the clock hits 25 minutes.
- Falls can be won at any time via pinfall, submission, or disqualification.
- When a Superstar scores a fall, they will earn one point.
- However, when a Superstar loses a fall, that Superstar must pay the penalty. They are forced out of the ring and into a penalty box for 90 seconds.
- Once the 90 seconds are up, the Superstar can re-enter the match.
- The Superstar who has scored the most falls when the clock hits 25 minutes will be named the Iron Survivor and become the No. 1 Contender to the NXT Championship and NXT Women’s Championship, respectively.

A few weeks ago Alba Fyre was on the cusp of becoming the NXT Women’s Champion in a Last Woman Standing Match against Mandy Rose, but a returning Isla Dawn sprayed mist in Fyre’s face and sent her crashing through a table, destroying her championship dreams.
In the weeks since Dawn has promised a reckoning while Fyre has guaranteed vengeance with NXT Deadline serving as the site of their showdown.

The NXT Tag Team Champions graced the NXT Universe with a performance of “A Real Christmas Story” that was scripted more to taunt the rest of the Tag Team division. Enter The New Day with a Christmas present of their own. One of the most decorated duos in WWE history shocked Elton Prince & Kit Wilson when they rolled into NXT with a challenge for NXT Deadline.
Now Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods will be looking to some new hardware to their collection – the NXT Tag Team Championships.
Bron Breakker (c) vs. Apollo Crews for the NXT Championship

Bron Breakker is feeling the effects of carrying the crown as NXT Champion, but the challenges aren’t letting up any time soon.
Apollo Crews has visions of capturing the NXT Title and has made it his mission to get his hands on the gold. The veteran will get his opportunity in a matchup against Breakker at NXT Deadline on Saturday, Dec. 10.
Breakker survived a brutal Triple Threat Match at Halloween Havoc against Ilja Dragunov and JD McDonagh and followed that up by outlasting Von Wagner in another title tilt. Crews paved his way to an NXT Title showdown by stopping the sadistic streak of McDonagh and making his intentions for the champion clear.
Can Crews be the one who dethrones Breakker to end 2022?
Cora Jade vs. Indi Hartwell vs. Kiana James vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Zoey Stark (Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge)

Mandy Rose has been one of the most dominant champions in NXT history but that hasn’t stopped the challengers from lining up.
Shawn Michaels named Roxanne Perez, Kiana James, Zoey Stark and Cora Jade as the first four combatants in the first-ever Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline. The Heartbreak Kid was joined by fellow WWE Hall of Famers Road Dogg, Molly Holly, Alundra Blayze, and X-Pac to help make his final decisions for the field.
The fifth and final competitor was determined in a Triple Threat Wild Card Match as Indi Hartwell bested Wendy Choo and Fallon Henley.
Axiom vs. Carmelo Hayes vs. Grayson Waller vs. JD McDonagh vs. Joe Gacy (Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge)

A historic Iron Survivor Challenge is taking shape, and a loaded field of competitors is ready to give it an unreal debut at NXT Deadline.
Shawn Michaels conferred with fellow WWE Hall of Famers Road Dogg, Molly Holly, Alundra Blayze, and X-Pac to come up with the initial field. Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller, Joe Gacy, and JD McDonagh were revealed as the first four participants, and a Triple Threat Wild Card Match will determine the fifth and final entrant. Axiom outlasted both Von Wagner and Andre Chase to punch his ticket for NXT Deadline and round out the field.
