WWE SmackDown preview, full card: December 16, 2022

Roman Reigns returns for Sami Zayn’s big night, Ricochet cashes in his Intercontinental Championship title shot, and more.

WWE SmackDown is live this week at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL – and they will also be taping next week’s episode directly after, as next weekend is Christmas. We’ll just focus on tonight’s live show for now, though. Last week, Sami Zayn was urged by the Usos to clean himself up a bit, as the Head of the Table is coming to the show tonight in what will apparently be a big night for the Honorary Uce. Let’s take a look at everything announced for tonight:

Hit Row vs. Legado del Fantasma vs. The Viking Raiders

WWE SmackDown preview, full card: December 16, 2022

WWE’s official preview:

The situation among Hit Row, Legado del Fantasma and The Viking Raiders has reached a boiling point.

Hit Row and Legado del Fantasma had been at war since the two teams arrived on SmackDown, and once The Viking Raiders re-emerged to obliterate both squads, Erik & Ivar also became embroiled in the fray.

On the December 9 edition of SmackDown, it was Hit Row who interrupted the match between Legado del Fantasma and The Viking Raiders, sparking a three-team brawl that left the WWE Universe breathless.

Now the WWE Universe will brace for a collision as the three teams are set to battle in the ring next week.

Damage CTRL (c) vs. Liv Morgan and Tegan Nox for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

WWE SmackDown preview, full card: December 16, 2022

WWE’s official preview:

With the recent return of Tegan Nox, Liv Morgan now has an ally in her fight with Damage CTRL. The duo found immediate chemistry as they defeated Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler on the December 9 edition of SmackDown.

With that huge win under their belts, Morgan & Nox are now entitled to a Women’s Tag Team Championship Match against Damage CTRL.

Can Morgan and Nox wrest control of the titles away from Damage CTRL?

Gunther (c) vs. Ricochet for the Intercontinental Championship

WWE SmackDown preview, full card: December 16, 2022

WWE’s official preview:

With a win over Braun Strowman in the SmackDown World Cup Final, Ricochet earned himself a ticket to face Gunther once again for the Intercontinental Championship.

Gunther was the very man that beat Ricochet for the Intercontinental Championship back in June of this year.

Now Ricochet will get his long-awaited chance to regain the title. Who will take home the Intercontinental Championship gold?

Roman Reigns returns to head the table

WWE SmackDown preview, full card: December 16, 2022

WWE’s official preview:

Fresh off The Bloodline’s statement win over Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre & The Brawling Brutes at Survivor Series WarGames, the faction has been riding high with Sami Zayn now officially ingrained in the group. Zayn has even found a camaraderie with Jey Uso, the man who distrusted him from the beginning.

Now The Bloodline will be back in full force as Roman Reigns returns next week. What will be The Tribal Chief’s next move now that The Bloodline are fully united?
