Get ready for Australia’s newest superhero in Koala Man. The upcoming adult animated series featuring the lead character who takes inspiration from the adorable marsupial is set to premiere next week. Hugh Jackman, who voices Big Greg, shared the trailer ahead of its release.
Koala Man is created by Michael Cusack (YOLO: Crystal Fantasy, Smiling Friends), who also voices the titular character. The story follows a normal middle-aged dad who has a passion for rules and regulations. He must juggle his family life along with his crime fighting. Check out the official synopsis below.
Koala Man follows middle-aged dad Kevin and his titular not-so-secret identity, whose only superpower is a burning passion for following rules and snuffing out petty crime in the town of Dapto. Though it may seem like any other Australian suburb, forces of evil both cosmic and man-made lie in wait to pounce on unsuspecting Daptonians. On a quest to clean up his hometown, and often roping his frustrated family into his adventures, Koala Man stands at the ready. He’ll do whatever it takes to defeat villainous masterminds, supernatural horrors, or worse: jerks who don’t take their rubbish bins down on the proper days.
The cast includes Cusack and Jackman with Sarah Snook, Demi Lardner, Hugh Jackman, Jemaine Clement, Alexandra Daddario, Rachel House, Angus Sampson, Hugo Weaving, Michelle Brasier, Mark Coles Smith, Liam McIntyre, Claudia O’Doherty, Jordan Shanks, Natalie Tran and Jarrad Wright. It is executive produced by Justin Roiland (Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites) and Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit (Pokémon: Detective Pikachu).
Koala Man will premiere Monday, January 9, on Hulu.
