Welcome back to another edition of Fantastic Five, where we give props to the very best comics of the week! This week was all about the indies, but don’t worry, True Believers – there are a couple of offerings from the House of Ideas mixed in there as well. Let’s get right to the five best comics of the week!
#5: Dark Ride #4
Dark Ride #4 is a great issue and a good turning point in the series. Power is switching hands, revelations are made, and the horrors are gorgeous every step of the way.

#4: Mindset #6
The final issue of this excellent miniseries brings the all-too-real narrative of a mind-controlling app to an exciting and satisfying conclusion, while revealing even more hidden truths about our modern digital society. The incredible work of the whole creative team has me hoping that Mindset will be considered for a few awards this year.

#3: Miles Morales: Spider-Man #2
With the reveal of an exceptionally cool character design reminiscent of the villain from Insomniac’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and an incredible aerial battle between Raneem and Starling, the issue ends with some very strong pages that leave you ready for more.

#2: Daredevil #7
Daredevil #7 is another great issue that advances the showdown between the Fist and the Hand. The reformed villains get a moment to think beyond themselves, making this a significant character issue. What is ideal is at the end of it all, you know there is a deadly threat waiting for these characters. The fire is starting up, so get ready for war.

#1: Black Cloak #1
Black Cloak combines elements of sci-fi, fantasy, and noir into something wholly original and compelling. Move over, Saga. This is my new obsession.
