James Gunn is now in charge of DC Studios with Peter Safran, with the world abuzz on how the DC Universe will change on the side of movies. With teases galore on James Gunn’s Twitter, many can speculate on what sort of films we’ll get, but nobody can argue these films will likely tie very closely to the comics. Never more is that as exciting as it was to see today, as Gunn tweeted a comic he’s reading with his coffee, which might be one of the best modern comics ever.
That comic in question? All-Star Superman. Written by Grant Morrison with art by Frank Quitely, it’s without a doubt one of the best Superman story arcs ever. Considering Gunn is currently writing a Superman script presumably to be filmed no matter what–he is the boss, after all–one could guess he’s looking for some inspiration.
I wouldn’t say an All-Star Superman movie is in the works, but we can only hope the film will garner the same spirit as the excellent comic.

James Gunn’s next project is Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, set to debut on May 5, 2023.
