Trek to Yomi, Flying Wild Hog’s samurai stunner from last year, is heading to the Nintendo Switch, publisher Devolver Digital announced today. On January 30, Switch gamers will be able to take control of Hiroki as he attempts to defend his village before journeying through the underworld.
The indie game is most notable for its aesthetic and how closely it resembles classic Akira Kurosawa samurai films. Its gameplay is simple yet challenging and you’ll have to rely on precise timing to parry your foes’ attacks before delivering killing blows.
I enjoyed Trek to Yomi when it released last year, writing “[Trek to Yomi‘s] cinematic excellence, fantastic environments, and tough gameplay make it a highly honorable samurai game” in an 8/10 review. It’ll retail for $19.99 on the Switch, and is also available on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
