Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is a little over a month away. Sandwiched between the recent Super Bowl trailer and upcoming world premier at South by Southwest is a new clip from the film. Based on what has been seen so far, the new movie seems to have its tongue firmly planted in cheek. The most recent bit shows the group awakening a corpse so they can ask it a few questions. Perhaps unsurprisingly, things do not go quite as planned.
What can fans expect from the upcoming D&D movie? There was a trilogy released between 2005-2012, but it did not fare very well among fans and critics. Unlike video games, there have not been a lot of board games that have been made into movies, so the comparison is limited to a handful of properties. Moreso than other popular brands adapted for the big screen, there is a mix of anticipation and trepidation.
With a top flight cast and a creative team whose credits include Spiderman: Homecoming, Game Night, and The Lego Batman Movie, Honor Among Thieves has a lot of promise. Everything that has been shown has been adventure filled with goofy fun, which sums up a night of Dungeons & Dragons perfectly.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves opens in theaters March 31
