Our favorite hero is flying back into our reality for Superman and Lois season three on The CW. Clark Kent and Lois Lane are trying to raise their teenage sons in the not-so-quiet town of Smallville, expecting it to be less dangerous than Metropolis.

But Superman is a villain magnet because this couple can’t seem to catch a break. In the third season, they’ll face off against criminal gang leader Bruno Mannheim (Chad L. Coleman) and Lex Luthor, brought to life by another Walking Dead star, Michael Cudlitz. While DC fans expected the third season to hit their screens in February, another superhero series on the network, The Flash, took that spot. But you won’t have to wait too long to catch up with this family. Superman and Lois season three will premiere in the U.S. on Tuesday, 14th March 2023, at 8:00 pm E.T. The show will be followed by the pilot episode of the new D.C. series Gotham Knights at 9:00 pm.

Elizabeth Tulloch and Tyler Hoechlin will return as the lead characters of the series Lois Lane and Clark Kent/ Superman for season 3.

While Alexander Garfin will reprise his role as Jordan Kent, the actor playing his twin brother will be recast. Michael Bishop will replace Jordan Elsass as Jonathan Kent in the new season. Elsass is stepping away from the role due to personal reasons. We’re sad to see him go, but the actor revealed on Instagram that he wants to focus on his mental health and spend more time with his loved ones.

Returning cast members include Wolé Parks as John Henry Irons, Tayler Buck as Natalie Irons, Sofia Hasmik as Chrissy Beppo, Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang Cushing, Inde Navarrette as Sarah Cushing, Dylan Walsh as Ret. General Sam Lane.

The third season opens weeks after where season two left off. Clark and Lois are now happily working together at the Smallville Gazette and could be adding another member to their family. But everything isn’t going great for Chrissy, who now has the isolating burden of keeping Lois’s “big secret.”

If you watched season two, you probably remember chatter about the Intergang boss Bruno Mannheim (Chad L Coleman (famous for his work on The Wire and The Walking Dead). Coleman will portray the new big bad looking to make things difficult for our favorite journalists. Superman and Lois season two finale ended with an alternate version of John Diggles (David Ramsey) meeting John Henry Irons at a diner in Smallville.

Fan favorites John Henry and his daughter are from an alternate universe where Superman destroyed the earth and killed Lois. But they’ve now made a home in Clark and Lois’s reality because the John Henry of this earth is dead.

John Diggle tells Henry that Bruno Mannheim could be responsible for the death of this earth’s John Henry. While Bruno Mannheim is a beloved philanthropist, Lois has been trying unsuccessfully to prove that he is the leader of the criminal organization, The Intergang.

But he isn’t the only villain making waves in season three. Another fan-favorite comic book villain, Lex Luthor, will make his first appearance as he tries to take revenge on Superman and Lois. Showrunner, Todd Helbing, told DC Comics that Jordan Kent and Sarah Cushing will have drifted apart at the beginning of season three. Realizing the burden of having a secret identity, it seems Jordan and Sarah will never be together. Jonathan is also struggling to find a purpose beyond playing football in this new season.
