Channel Surfing: Awesome TV picks for the week of 03/20/2023

We have a fun selection for our latest Channel Surfing TV picks.

We’re in the back half of March and the good television keeps on coming. We have a fun selection for our latest Channel Surfing TV picks. Follow along Chef Kristen Kish’s global adventure in Restaurants at the End of the World. Search for ancient treasure and antiquities in Digman!. Then, prepare to learn more answers in the second season of Yellowjackets.

Off the Beaten Path

Kristen Kish has made that jump from chef to celebrity. She began as a contestant and eventual winner on the tenth season of Top Chef. Later, she would serve as the host for both 36 Hours and Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend as well appear as one of the regular competitors on Fast Foodies.

Her latest series is Restaurants at the End of the World. Kish visits the world’s most remote restaurants to discover the “special ingredients” that make them work. Whether it’s the people, places, culture, or traditions, all play a significant role in these hard to reach places for dining.

Restaurants at the End of the World premieres Tuesday, March 21, on National Geographic.

An Animated Reunion

Neil Campbell was co-producer of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which starred Andy Samberg and Melissa Fumero. The trio are working together again on the adult animated comedy Digman!. Campbell and Samberg serve as co-creators and co-writers.

Rip Digman is a world-famous archaeologist who traveled the globe searching for important artifacts. One particular quest ended in failure and destroyed Rip’s promising career. Now, he has a renewed focus hoping to erase his deeds of the past and reclaim his spot as the best treasure hunter.

The series premiere of Digman! airs Wednesday, March 22, on Comedy Central.

The Darkness is Coming

One of the surprise breakout series of last year was the thriller drama Yellowjackets. It followed the girls of a soccer team who survive a plane crash in the Canadian wilderness. The story jumps back and forth in time between the past chronicling the teen’s primal struggle for survival and the present where those who managed to return wrestle with the psychological healing required to overcome the atrocities and traumas they encountered all those years ago.

Hopefully the new season can shed some insight on the biggest questions and reveals. Some of the survivors in the present are still being haunted and turn to an unexpected source to help them. There are also some new additions to the cast including Elijah Wood, Simone Kessell, and Lauren Ambrose.

Season two of Yellowjackets can be viewed beginning Friday, March 24 on the Showtime streaming service and will air linearly Sunday, March 26, on the cable network.
