This week, Matt Webb Mitovich at TVLine exclusively revealed that Demetrius Grosse has been cast as Simon Williams‘ brother Eric (aka the Grim Reaper) in the upcoming MCU Wonder Man series. He joins Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the title character along with Ben Kingsley, who will reprise his role as Trevor Slattery (aka the Fake Mandarin).
For folks who aren’t familiar with Eric Williams, his version of the Grim Reaper isn’t the one most people envision when they hear the name. In the comics, he sought help from the Tinkerer after his brother’s “death” at the hands of the Avengers (which was actually caused by Baron Zemo). He ended up getting a scythe that could do all sorts of cool/crazy stuff. Later the Grim Reaper gained necromancy powers after an old fashion comic book death and resurrection.
Obviously, there’s a lot about the character that the Disney+ Wonder Man series is going to have to change, including his costume.

Marvel
At least we know the character will be in good hands, though. Demetrius Grosse has a long list of impressive television credits, including main roles in Banshee, Frontier, and Fear the Walking Dead.
Wonder Man is expected to debut later this year or in early 2024.
