Top Chef returns for another week and coincidentally, a former contestant also returns to the competition. Though everyone has grown close over the course of the reality series, it’s hard enough every challenge and having one extra person to worry about just adds to the stress.
For the quickfire, the competitors received another break. Instead, the two left in Last Chance Kitchen battled it out over afternoon tea. Padma, Tom, and the entire collective working as one would vote to see who would earn their way back. Whoever it was, they would gain a short reprieve because they also won immunity.
Downton Abbey fans could appreciate the site for the elimination challenge. Top Chef decided to visit Highclere Castle for a high-class elevated picnic. The contestants were divided into two teams with each group responsible for creating a cohesive meal consisting of five dishes. One of the dishes needed to be a sweet one.
To help match the occasion, they could shop at Fortnum & Mason, the market that is the official grocer of the Queen, in addition to the regular Whole Foods. For picnic food, they had to make sure that it travelled well. They also needed to finish all the cooking early because once they made it to the castle grounds, they would have no access to a kitchen.
Guest judge, Graham Hornigold, helped select the winner and bottom chefs. Those two bottom chefs went head-to-head to see who would be safe and who would be the returning chef in Last Chance Kitchen. With so many twists, there were definitely changes in our Top Chef Power Rankings.
New episodes of Top Chef season 20 air Thursday nights on Bravo.
