Following Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City, AMC released footage for its next franchise spinoff, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. The series has been generating some buzz of late thanks to a quick teaser and the surprising news that Melissa McBride will appear as Carol.
This week’s promotional material, however, is by far the best look at the series we’ve gotten thus far.
“My name’s Daryl Dixon. I come from a place called the Commonwealth.”

After watching that, even the most jaded Walking Dead viewer is going to have some questions:
- What did Daryl go out looking for?
- What “trouble” did he find?
- How the heck did he end up all the way on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean in France?
- Will Daryl being in France force him to contend with the variant/running walkers that were revealed at the end of The Walking Dead: World Beyond?
- Will we learn more about the origin of the zombie virus, which was strongly hinted in the aforementioned scene to be caused by French scientists?
- How is Carol going to get to France, too?
- Is Dog still alive/okay?
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is scheduled to debut as a six-episode miniseries on AMC this fall.
UPDATE: AMC also sent along some to promote the series:
