WWE Money in the Bank 2023 card, predictions, how to watch

WWE’s Money in the Bank has become a pillar in the company’s event calendar, and this year the show goes across the pond to the O2 Arena in London, England. As is tradition, two Money in the Bank briefcases will be up for grabs (literally), each containing a contract good for a championship match at the time of the winner’s choosing, any time in the next year.

This year will also feature “Bloodline Civil War”. The fractured Bloodline will do battle as Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa take on the exiled Usos.

WWE Money in the Bank 2023 date and start time

WWE Money in the Bank will have a special start time of 3pm ET on Saturday, July 1, 2023.

How to watch WWE Money in the Bank 2023

WWE Money in the Bank 2023 will be available to stream on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network elsewhere.

WWE Money in the Bank 2023 card and predictions

Cody Rhodes vs. Dominik Mysterio

WWE Money in the Bank 2023 card, predictions, how to watch

Shane: I can’t help but feel like this is demotion for Cody. Nothing against Dominik Mysterio who is having one hell of a year, but he doesn’t have the same ‘big match’ feel as winning the Royal Rumble, main eventing WrestleMania or feuding with Brock Lesnar. So, it should be a relatively easy payday for Cody picking up a win over the young Mysterio. However, there is a part of me that thinks we will see Lesnar show up in London to help setup his match against Cody Rhodes at next month’s SummerSlam. Now that I think about it, I wouldn’t mind a Dominik Mysterio victory here. Just to see the world burn a little bit.
Winner: Dominik Mysterio

Jason: I think Ex-Con Dom gains too much from a sneaky victory (likely with some Brock-shaped interference) to let this go any other way. Cody already looks dominant over the younger Mysterio, so a win helps him none – but a victory for the Judgment Day’s youngest member (probably the only victory the squad sees at MITB) would give him yet another reason to be booed. As such, it only makes sense one way.
Winner: Dominik Mysterio

Patrick: I’m going to go the other way and say that Cody wins. Despite being on something of a side quest of late, he’s still the guy not named Roman in WWE, and I don’t see him losing on PLE twice in a row – especially not to someone like Dominik, who is doing some amazing heel work, but is definitely much lower on the kayfabe totem pole than The American Nightmare.
Winner: Cody Rhodes

Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

WWE Money in the Bank 2023 card, predictions, how to watch

Shane: I’m glad to see that Liv is back already and that her injury wasn’t more serious. But, there is still no way that Liv and Raquel are going to dethrone Ronda and Shayna for the Women’s Tag Team Championship. In fact, I don’t see the champs losing those belts any time soon. And that’s the way it should be. I don’t have a lot of faith in the WWE making these belts mean anything, but if there is a small chance for this to happen, it will be with Ronda Rousey as one half of the champions.
Winners: Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler

Jason: There is no one in this match that I care about. In the past I may’ve rooted for Shayna or Liv, but this match is just plain toast. I’m sure it’ll be fine and get the job done, but there is zero excitement for it. Ronda and Shayna are supposed to be reviving the belts, right? So I guess they win to keep this thing going? Whatever.
Winners: Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler

Patrick: A dominant victory over Liv and Raquel is the only way to go here. If these titles are ever going to mean anything, it’s time for credible champions who make sense as a team to hold them for a long time.
Winners: Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler

Gunther (c) vs. Matt Riddle for the Intercontinental Championship

WWE Money in the Bank 2023 card, predictions, how to watch

Shane: I am not letting my personal distaste for Riddle influence my pick here as I truly feel that Gunther will retain the Intercontinental Championship. Check. Next.
Winner: Gunther

Jason: I really dislike Riddle, but that shouldn’t suggest I don’t recognize that he’s good at the graps. As such, I predict another banger for Gunther, one that probably goes at a faster pace than a lot of his other recent bouts but is just as satisfying. In the end, though, Der Ring General will keep rolling en route to a more interesting opponent and that IC belt will stay firmly around his svelte Austrian waist.
Winner: Gunther

Patrick: This has match of the night potential written all over it, but yeah, I don’t see Riddle dethroning Gunther, especially with such little build-up. Gunther retains.
Winner: Gunther

Zelina Vega vs. Becky Lynch vs. Zoey Stark vs. Bayley vs. IYO SKY vs. Trish Stratus (Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match)

WWE Money in the Bank 2023 card, predictions, how to watch

Shane: It is no secret that I am a huge Trish Stratus fan. A young Shane loved every minute that she was on my TV and adult Shane feels that she has become more beautiful with age. And honestly, I would not be upset if Trish won and somehow managed to cash in her briefcase successfully for a short nostalgia run. However, even I can see that it just won’t happen. Instead, let’s give the rub to IYO SKY. Her Raw Women’s Championship match at Backlash did more for IYO than the entire 9 months she has been in Damage CTRL. IYO is a star in the making and I’m hoping the WWE brass see it as well. Give her the case, let her hold it for more than 24 hours and then successfully cash it in on someone other than Charlotte Flair to set off a nice long run with the belt.
Winner: IYO SKY

Jason: This is either going to Becky, Trish, or IYO, and of those three, the most narratively satisfying new star that can be built would be IYO, so that’s the basket where I’m putting my eggs. IYO would be someone new and interesting to have the case, and has a natural pre-title match feud with Bayley sitting right there. Trish and Becky (and Zoey) don’t need the briefcase or a title to keep their feud going, and Zelina’s just lucky to be on the show, so why not continue to build the Genius of the Sky by giving her another accolade to hold over Bayley.
Winner: IYO SKY

Patrick: It’s time to pull the trigger on IYO SKY. Like Shane said, Backlash was a star-making performance for her, as if she needed one. Damage CTRL has run its course and is even less exciting with Dakota on the shelf, so let’s get this simmering Bayley/SKY feud going with the briefcase in the mix.
Winner: IYO SKY

Ricochet vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. LA Knight vs. Santos Escobar vs. Butch vs. Damian Priest vs. Logan Paul (Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match)

WWE Money in the Bank 2023 card, predictions, how to watch

Shane: I know that having Logan Paul win can do a lot in terms of publicity for the company as a whole… but for the love of God, let it be anybody but Logan Paul.
Winner: Damian Priest

Jason: I know the popular consensus (and Vegas betting odds) say LA Knight is the guy to win this year. I would gladly support it too, as the dude has all the charisma in the world, and his promo style is getting him more and more over with the fans. That being said, this is the WWE, and there has never been a company more unafraid of cutting off its own nose to spite its face (maybe Blizzard). I could very easily see Vince (77) going back to the “40 is too old” line of thinking and torpedoing the most organically over performer in the match in order to give the briefcase to Logan Paul. Sure Paul doesn’t need it, but this is the guy who decided to have Sheamus win the Royal Rumble over a returning Chris Jericho just because fans recognized that it was the best thing to do before WWE did it. I see Paul grabbing the case and then maybe even taking the WHC off of Seth Rollins to reignite that feud.
Winner: Logan Paul

Patrick: I’m hoping this year’s Money in the Bank will be looked back on as the year they once again decided to use the ladder matches for their original purpose: to catapult burgeoning stars to the next level. This year, that means IYO SKY, and the man whose name everybody’s sayin’: L. A. Knight. YEAHHH!
Winner: LA Knight

Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa vs. The Usos

WWE Money in the Bank 2023 card, predictions, how to watch

Shane: I’m really not sure which way this one will go. Even though Roman didn’t get pinned to lose the match at Night of Champions, he still technically lost. Will WWE have Roman lose twice in back-to-back PLEs? I’m not sure. Because of this, I can see Roman and Solo easily winning at Money in the Bank. But on the other hand, an Uso victory can do wonders for the narrative that’s being told. One of these times, Roman is going to take the pin in one of these tag team matches and I think that Saturday night might just be this time. Usually around this time we hear rumors about what the big matches at SummerSlam will more than likely be, but it’s been pretty quiet in terms of Roman’s opponent, so after taking the pin, I’m manifesting that we see a Jimmy/Jay/Roman triple threat match at Summerslam.
Winners: The Usos

Jason: This one is hard to predict, but I think we need to transition the Usos away from Roman’s Island of Relevancy, and the best way to do that is by having Roman and Solo not only beat, but stomp Jimmy and Jey off of TV for a while. I’m not sure they’re ready to do the Solo vs. Roman stuff quite yet, so you need the Tribal Chief and the Street Champ to remain together, and that only happens with a victory for Roman. I expect some post-match beat downs to really lay in Solo’s loyalty to Reigns, and the Usos can take some time off before returning to the tag ranks a few months down the line.
Winner: Roman and Solo

Patrick: I think Roman and Solo lose here to solidify the “The Bloodline is falling apart” angle. Roman likely won’t take the pin, as they will hopefully save that for SummerSlam or WrestleMania when (if?) he loses the title, but the Bloodline will lose and the Tribal Chief will go apoplectic.
Winners: The Usos

Seth “Freakin” Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor for the World Heavyweight Championship

WWE Money in the Bank 2023 card, predictions, how to watch

Shane: Rumor has it that we are in for a “big upset” at Money in the Bank. I don’t consider Cody losing to ex-Con Dom or Logan Paul (hopefully not) winning the Money in the Bank briefcase to be “upsets”. Which really only leaves the World Heavyweight Championship Match. Seth has been great as champion this past month, but I think Finn could fill those shoes easily. It also sounds like WWE wants the World Heavyweight Championship to be different from the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in every way possible and a couple short title reigns would help move the title in that direction.  Plus Rhea as Women’s Champ, Priest as Mr. Money in the Bank, Finn as World Champ and Dom being Dom would be a pretty neat picture to see, even if it is short lived.
Winner: Finn Balor

Jason: I love Finn Balor, and want only the best for him. I want him to be world champion so bad, but come on. This version of Finn is just not going to get it done. Never mind the fact that Seth needs to hold the title for a little bit longer to establish some kind of positive legacy to that WWE-branded Ferrero Rocher they call a title. Finn is arguably the least over guy in his faction, and hasn’t won a feud in years. The dude has been christened “Pinn Balor,” and I’ll be damned if it isn’t an apt description of the Prinxe these days. Maybe when he loses we can accelerate the Judgment Day upheaval and pair him with JD McDonagh like they teased a while back, and the duo can have some success as a heel tag, because there’s zero chance he’s winning this title on Sunday. Sorry, Prince.
Winner: Seth “Freakin” Rollins

Patrick: As much as I disagree with it, they are clearly pushing a “dissension in the Judgment day” angle. I think that continues here, possibly with Damian Priest inadvertently (or intentionally) costing Balor the title.
Winner: Seth “Freakin” Rollins
