AIPT Television podcast episode 37: Breaking down the SDCC 2023 TV panels

Despite strikes and major studios sitting out the event, there is still plenty of TV programming at San Diego Comic-Con 2023.

It’s time for a brand-new episode of the AIPT Television podcast. This week we are joined by contributor Collier Jennings. In addition to AIPT, you can find his work on such outlets as Collider, /Film, IGN, and Comic Book Resources.

With San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) next week, we decided to breakdown the TV series panels for 2023. This year’s event looks to have a different feel with influential properties from Warner Bros. Discovery (HBO, DC) and Disney (Marvel, Star Wars) deciding not to attend.

In addition, there is the current Writers Guild of America on strike, and now the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) are most likely joining them. It’s a fluid situation, and we don’t know how all of this will impact SDCC. (Note: The podcast was recorded before talks between SAG-AFTRA and major studios broke down.)
