We have an all-new trio of can’t miss series for our latest Channel Surfing TV picks. Mark Millar’s comic book series American Jesus is adapted in the upcoming The Chose One. Craig and Jillian are ready to take their next step towards the American Dream in Killing It. Finally, The Winter King provides another take on the Arthurian legend.
The Second Coming
American Jesus is a comic series from Mark Millar and Peter Gross. It follows a 12-year-old boy who manages to survive a freak accident. He soon discovers that he has Jesus like powers such as turning water into wine, healing disease, and more. While he can make a significant positive impact in the world with his abilities, he’s still stuck on things kids his own age worry about. He must learn to accept his destiny.
The Chosen One is based off of the comic book but with the change where the story takes place in Mexico rather than the United States. It is developed by Everado and Leopoldo Gout, and Jorge Dorantes with Leopoldo and Dorantes serving as showrunners.

Mo Money Mo Problems
Craig is a down on his luck father and divorcee with entrepreneurial dreams. When we last left Killing It, he, and his partner Jillian win Florida’s python hunting challenge along with its $20,000 cash prize. With an influx of capital, the pair are ready to start a business.
Season two finds Craig and Jillian experiencing some minor success with a farm in coastal Florida. Soon, a swamp family muscles in demanding a cut and the state bureaucracy is ready to shut them down. They must find a way to make things work since Craig’s daughter and ex-wife are counting on him.
Killing It season two drops all eight episodes on Thursday, August 17, on Peacock.
From Exile to Legend
The Warlord Chronicles is a trilogy of novels written by Bernard Cornwell. It tells the story of Arthur’s rise to power and influence during the Dark Ages of Britain. The books blend historically accurate fiction with the legends of old told through the perspective of the Saxon born monk, Derfel Cadarn.
The Winter King, named after the first title in the series, is an adaptation of Cornwell’s work. Arthur is a bastard son of the current king and lives a life of exile as a warlord. Witness the origin of an unlikely hero who would become Britain’s savior.
The series premiere of The Winter King airs Sunday, August 20, on MGM+.
