#4: The Deviant #1

Fantastic Five: The best comics of the week of November 15, 2023

There’s something truly haunting and chilly about The Deviant, not unlike Robert Eggers’ The Witch. Mood and tension come together in an excellent opening issue that’s filled with unease. There’s a hopelessness that rings throughout that makes it hard to put this book down.

#3: WildC.A.T.s #12

Fantastic Five: The best comics of the week of November 15, 2023

All-in-all, there is very little to dislike about this issue. It ties up loose ends but still leaves a few to be unraveled in future appearances. WildC.A.T.s #12 shows a boundless love for the team, the Wildstorm universe, and every character within it. Despite being an issue largely filled with fights and the smallest semblance of an epilogue, it absolutely hits home and proves just a viable a team this ragtag group of rugged assassins can be.

This is as good as it gets in Marvel Comics. It blends the past with the present, delivering something new, and hammers home surprising twists that elevate the superhero genre. Immoral Thor is quite simply a must-read comic.
