Last summer, we received our first look at The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live during San Diego Comic-Con. It was a short video with a third of it being title credits. AMC Networks has dropped another short teaser with more footage and behind-the-scenes commentary from the series’ stars Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira.
In addition to the teaser, AMC announced the official premiere date, which is February 25, 2024 on both AMC and AMC+. The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is executive produced by Showrunner Scott M. Gimple, Lincoln, Gurira, Denise Huth and Brian Bockrath. Check out the show’s official synopsis below.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive — or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead?
We also received a few images from the series. They include a picture of Danai Gurira’s Michonne and new characters Thorne played by Lesley-Ann Brandt and Nat played by Matthew Jeffers. Also in the new video is the blink and you’ll miss it appearance of Major General Beale played by Terry O’Quinn. O’Quinn was announced during the panel at this year’s New York Comic Con along with the news that Pollyanna McIntosh would return to play Jadis.
