Marvel’s Blade in development from Arkane Lyon

The Dishonored developer’s next game stars Marvel’s renowned vampire hunter Blade.

In what might be the most surprising announcement of the night so far, a new Marvel game was announced — Blade. Developed by Arkane Lyon, Marvel’s Blade stars the half-vampire Daywalker himself in “a mature, single-player, third-person game set in the heart of Paris, now in development in collaboration with Marvel Games.”

Marvel’s Blade joins Skydance New Media’s World War II set adventure starring Captain America and Black Panther as well as Insomniac’s Wolverine (and whatever they have cooking in their Spider-Man series) as in-development Marvel games. None of them have clear release windows at this time.

Blade is having a bit of a mini resurgence in popular culture lately, with the Marshala Ali-starring film (hopefully) on its way, his wonderful inclusion in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and now his own game from one of the more renowned studios around. It’s worth noting Marvel’s Blade is from Arkane Lyon, the studio behind hits like Dishonored 2 and Deathloop, and not Arkane Austin, makers of Prey but also… Redfall.

One can assume Marvel’s Blade is at least a few years away. As Bethesda is now owned by Microsoft, one could assume it will be a PC and Xbox console exclusive, but, with how poorly the Xbox Series X/S is performing, maybe Microsoft decides to publish Marvel’s Blade for the distinguished competition as well. For now, we’ll just have to enjoy this brief teaser.
