Courtesy of Oni Press, AIPT can exclusively reveal preview pages for Faceless and the Family #3, out January 17th. Written and drawn by Matt Lesniewski, the series features his customary and incredibly unique style to bring out a world well worth exploring. That world is incredibly fresh, and as Lesniewski tells us, it all starts in his head.
“While that might seem obvious, what I mean is I spend a lot of time dreaming things up, imagining different possibilities,” Lesniewski told us in a statement. “Different shapes, poses, environments and scenarios. Long before I sketch or write a thing. I need to see things vividly before I raise a hand. A lot of my work is done in my head, and the drawing/writing is just me capturing it. Solidifying my imagination.
Lesniewski added, “Faceless and the Family is that in story form. One time someone said “Oh, you draw normal, too?”. I’m not sure what exactly they meant, but why would I want to draw normal? That’s boring. I’d rather try something new. Try something different. Not to toot my own horn but I think Faceless will be something people haven’t seen before, while still being something they can connect with. It isn’t normal. There are characters and worlds you haven’t seen before. I’d like to think people are looking for something new. Well… here it is.
