WWE Raw to move to Netflix in $5 billion deal

After 32 years on cable television, WWE’s flagship program is moving to streaming.

WWE’s flagship program, Monday Night Raw, is leaving cable TV after 32 years of weekly programming. Starting in January 2025, Raw will exclusively stream on Netflix.

According to Variety, the deal with valued at $500 million for 10 years, meaning Netflix shelled out a shocking $5 billion for the show.

“We are excited to have WWE Raw, with its huge and passionate multigenerational fan base, on Netflix,” said Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria. “By combining our reach, recommendations and fandom with WWE, we’ll be able to deliver more joy and value for their audiences and our members. Raw is the best of sports entertainment, blending great characters and storytelling with live action 52 weeks a year and we’re thrilled to be in this long-term partnership with WWE.”

WWE President Nick Khan said the following: “In its relatively short history, Netflix has engineered a phenomenal track record for storytelling. We believe Netflix, as one of the world’s leading entertainment brands, is the ideal long-term home for Raw’s live, loyal, and ever-growing fan base.”

Outside of the United States, the deal is even bigger as Netflix will be the home for all WWE programming, including SmackDownNXT, and all Premium Live Events.

In the US, however, the future homes for each of WWE’s three major shows have been finalized: Raw will be on Netflix, SmackDown will move from FOX back to USA, and NXT is headed to The CW.
