AEW Dynasty 2024 card and predictions

The Acclaimed (c) vs. Bullet Club Gold (c) for the AEW World Trios Championship and ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship (Titles For Titles)

AEW Dynasty 2024 full card, how to watch, predictions

Darius: I’ve got a lot of thoughts about these Trios and Six-Man Championships, but this isn’t the venue for that (yet). I think what I’ve realized with this match is that there’s nowhere in the singles division that’s primed for Jay White right now. Depending on the AEW Champion at the end of the show, it’s either heel/heel or it’s a near-guaranteed loss against Swerve. The International Title is in a similar spot. The TNT Title scene has a bunch of goth guys in the way (though, not going to lie, I can see Jay beating Copeland for the belt). And, while White vs Okada is money, I doubt that’s the next move for either man, especially since it’s two top heels. Basically, my prediction for this match has nothing to do with the super cold Six-Man belts. Rather, my prediction relies on the fact that Jay White holding two belts, even if only one is active, looks like good booking in passing (even if it’s just a Band-Aid for his subpar handling in AEW thus far).
Winners: Bullet Club Gold

Jay: What did y’all do to The Acclaimed? I was at Full Gear 2022 and these boys set the building on-fire with how beloved they were. What happened? Bullet Club Gold is the shiny new toy and I think they will take it.
Winners: Bullet Club Gold

Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston, and Mark Briscoe vs. House of Black

AEW Dynasty 2024 full card, how to watch, predictions

Darius: I’m a man of principles. One of my simple rules is that, unless the makeshift team is comprised of heavy hitters, the established team is always the safe bet. The TNT Champion, ROH World Champion, and NJPW Strong Openweight Champion are, in theory, heavy hitters, but not only are the House of Black quite the formidable trio, but I can believably see each of the House’s members holding each of the opposing team’s titles. With the House of Black having everything to win, I feel like they’re going to do exactly that.
Winners: The House of Black

Jay: AEW only pretends to care about House of Black. If your name isn’t Julia Hart, AEW gives no f*cks about your spoopy stuff. AEW does care about Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston, and Mark Briscoe though. They will take it to put some shine on the new TNT and ROH Champion.

Winners: Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston, and Mark Briscoe

Hook (c) vs. “Lionheart” Chris Jericho for the FTW Championship (FTW Rules)

AEW Dynasty 2024 full card, how to watch, predictions

Darius: Jericho’s going to win and throw the FTW belt away. That’s the epiphany I had when I was asked where any of this is going. If it’s just putting over Hook, I don’t know what we get out of seeing Hook beat him on PPV after he just did it on TV a few weeks ago. And, while I don’t particularly like Jericho winning, he did just start doing this “Jericho Vortex” thing, and if Hook wins, he escapes said vortex. Now, there’s a reality where current Jericho is delusional and starts counting a loss against Hook as a win for himself (i.e., Jericho says Hook benefited from being around Jericho), but I think the more straightforward answer is, somehow, Jericho wins this. I hope I’m wrong, though!
Winner: “Lionheart” Chris Jericho

Jay: UGHHHHH. Go away, Jericho. Begone.
Winner: “Lionheart” Chris Jericho

Julia Hart (c) vs. Willow Nightingale for the TBS Championship (House Rules)

AEW Dynasty 2024 full card, how to watch, predictions

Darius: I’m not even going to debate the result. I just need to believe it with my whole heart. Willow Nightingale is winning an AEW championship. And while I’m at it, she’s going to pounce and pin Mercedes in 18 seconds flat at Double or Nothing, too.
Winner: Willow Nightingale

Jay: Darius is right, Willow is going to take this to set up a feud with Moné. Julia has had a great reign and she is a surefire breakout star. I’d love to see her vs. Toni Storm as the gimmicks clashing would make some magic but we’ll see.
Winner: Willow Nightingale

Roderick Strong (c) vs. Kyle O’Reilly for the AEW International Championship

AEW Dynasty 2024 full card, how to watch, predictions

Darius: This is going to be a great match, but unless TK is finally ready to press the eject button on the Undisputed Elite, there’s no good reason to take the belt off of Roddy now. Kyle O’Reilly is my guy, but whether it’s storytelling conventions or the simple fact that Strong and company are likely to rely on shenanigans, I feel like Strong has this in the bag.
Winner: Roderick Strong

Jay: I am sick of pretending to care about the International Championship. I was done with The Undisputed Era in 2020. I am so happy that KOR is healthy and bless him for all he’s been through. Look at the man’s arm and he’s still fighting but honestly, he deserves a better return than this. The match will be great but, meh.
Winner: Roderick Strong

Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Pac for the AEW Continental Championship

AEW Dynasty 2024 full card, how to watch, predictions

Darius: Back-to-back with the previous match, there are a couple of guys who I feel are returning from injury and immediately losing title matches. As a longtime NJPW fan, I’m simply not going to bet against Okada unless he’s fighting Jay White (and even then, AEW Jay White isn’t New Japan Jay White). The Young Bucks aren’t going to interfere for stipulation reasons, but Okada doesn’t need the help. He’s going to lay a Bastard down with a Rainmaker.
Winner: Kazuchika Okada

Jay: I wish this match was a Falls Count Anywhere match. The match would open the show and then they would brawl into the back. Other matches would occur while they are fighting in the back and they would show segments of the fight throughout the show till, finally, Kazu beats Pac in the ring DURING the main event. But Kazu will take it.
Winner: Kazuchika Okada

“Timeless” Toni Storm (c) vs. Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s World Championship

AEW Dynasty 2024 full card, how to watch, predictions

Darius: O’Reilly, PAC, and now Thunder Rosa. I think all three are using their returns to mix up title scenes, but none of them are coming back with enough momentum to win the belt they’re going for. I’m sure this is going to be a fun match, but I don’t see Thunder Rosa walking out of Dynasty with any gold. We’re not at a point where “Timeless” Toni is infallible anymore, as I think a different challenger could have made me think this is it. However, I think the starlet isn’t quite ready to fade on Sunday.
Winner: “Timeless” Toni Storm

Jay: Toni is going to take this. Toni was supposed to beat Thunder Rosa in 2021 till she was, suddenly, out with injury under – what we were led to believe by AEW itself – auspicious circumstances. This is a chance to right that wrong and Toni will take to continue her run.

Winner:Timeless” Toni Storm

Young Bucks vs. FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championship (Ladder Match)

AEW Dynasty 2024 full card, how to watch, predictions

Darius: The fantasy bookers have infected me. I am fully on-board with the “Jack Perry interferes and pushes FTR off a ladder” theory. It’s honestly the only way their stupid backstage footage segment gets paid off. The Elite are a trio who historically hold all the gold, regardless of who the third residing Young Buck is. Kenny, Cody, Hangman with the Hung Bucks, now Okada. Plus, if the Young Bucks win, they and FTR are officially 2-2 in tag matches, setting up a sweet, sweet rubber match down the road. For now, sportsmanship has died. The first three matches were for the love of the game. Now, FTR are going to fight the real dirtbag Young Bucks, give them a real whooping, then be very upset when the Bucks somehow pull away with the win.
Winners: Young Bucks

Jay: The Young Bucks are the biggest thing going in AEW right now so they’ll take it. I do expect Jack Perry to run interference though and join The Elite. We’ll be annoyed at the CM Punk overtones but, whatever.
Winners: Young Bucks

Will Ospreay vs. Bryan Danielson

AEW Dynasty 2024 full card, how to watch, predictions

Darius: Ospreay is currently undefeated in singles matches in AEW. He’s beaten Orange Cassidy, Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, and the whole rest of the Don Callis Family. The question of the hour is, “Who beats him?” It’s easy to look at Danielson’s recent body of work and see this as yet another outing where Danielson puts a younger guy over, but then there are matches with guys like ZSJ, where Bryan beating him gave the Technical Wizard something to strive for later. And Bryan best Okada last year, so he’s not above beating the seemingly unbeatable. It’s probably more likely that the exact scenario I’ve described happens but with Moxley as Ospreay’s wall instead of Bryan. Yet, I’d still like to live in a world where we’re almost guaranteed another match between these two later on down the line.
Winner: Bryan Danielson

Jay: Dragon is going to go out on his back. Dragon doesn’t have much time left as a full-time wrestler and he knows that AEW is investing a lot in Ospreay so he’ll be looking up at the lights. It will be a must-see match and I can’t wait.
Winner: Will Ospreay

Samoa Joe (c) vs. Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship

AEW Dynasty 2024 full card, how to watch, predictions

Darius: I almost typed out Swerve’s theme lyrics from memory and left my point there. It’s time to pull the trigger for real. Joe has made the belt feel important and has been a great champion, holding things down for a bit after MJF’s stupid long reign. However, Swerve’s stock is so high right now, and he has done everything he needs to. He fully turned face in the triple threat match last month despite all of his heelish talk since then. He’s mostly shed the dead weight of the Mogul Embassy, save for the one person who works best with him, Prince Nana. He’s got the killer look, the raw promos, the smooth in-ring style, the catchy theme song, the crowd in the palm of his hands. All he needs is the belt. This is more of a demand than a desire or a prediction. Give this man the belt, now.
Winner: Swerve Strickland

Jay: Joe is going to take this and Russ Dobler is going to have to watch all of The Rock’s PPV matches from 2000. Swerve isn’t winning this title till he is done with Hangman and he isn’t done with Hangman. I expect him to show up somehow and cost Swerve.
Winner: Samoa Joe
