Spring has sprung, and with it promises indie darlings and Triple A hits releasing week after week. This year has a lot to live up to compared to 2023’s best releases, but it’s off to a strong start so far.

Let’s check out what video games are hitting storefronts this week.

Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut (5/16)

Platform: PC

One of the PlayStation 4 era’s best open world games finally gets a release on PC when Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut launches this Thursday. The Director’s Cut includes the Iki Island DLC expansion, full Japanese lip sync, haptic feedback for the DualSense controller, various ultrawide resolution options, unlocked frame rates, and more. You’ll play as samurai Jin Sakai as he defends his people against Mongol invaders and balances his honor as a samurai with the dishonorable tactics he must employ.

Baladins (5/15)

Platform: PC

Baladins continues the trend of tabletop RPG-inspired games. It’s a cozy co-op RPG with a cute art style that features paper cutout-like characters moving around a bright 3D world. You and up to three other players will craft your own stories as you try to complete the quest of entertaining the masses. A release for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch is expected later this year when the game fully launches.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes (5/16)

Platform: PC and Switch

Annapurna’s next unique indie gem on the docket is Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. It’s a non-linear mystery featuring over 150 handcrafted puzzles. You’ll play as Lorelei, as young woman summoned to participate in a vague project located in an old mansion in Italy. She goes in search of answers, and it’ll be up to you to find them.
